That's my second favorite, my fav is Girl at her volcano.

This..."While having its share of cheerful moments, the album remains, overall, a morose affair. The melancholy, “On Saturday Afternoons In 1963,” finds the twenty-something Jones waxing nostalgic about childhood spent laughing the afternoons away and reflecting on the treasure of old friends."

I doan know if'n it's morose...sat. afternoons in 63 to me is a both an homage to an old friend who's long gone and the unjust vissistitudes of a life that often makes no sense and has no regard for right & wrong.
The random fragility of life.
RLJ's version of my funny valentine will always be the best IMO.

The first album is a stunner, but have to go with "Flying Cowboys". It's such an important album for me. And an inspiring journey, Rickie went in a different direction with "F C's" and it was a welcomed surprise! What a beautiful painting she creates with this album...

if I had to put my top 5 RLJ albums in some kind of order...

1: Pirates
2: Sermon On Exposition Boulevard
3: 1st album
4: Magazine
5: Balm In Gilead

but its such a personal thing, I'll no doubt have changed my mind by the weekend!
