recording… Day 1

Today I started my new record, the first one in a few years, and the first record I have written by myself in more than a decade. I am thrilled to have such amazing players. My producer John Porter was a brilliant call, and more than one person encouraged me to seek him out. He is an Englishman who lived here in the city for many years, and only recently returned to England to live. He knows New Orleans musicians and music, and loves the city. so, so far so good. A good first day.

I must send out my gratitude to the Kaiser Moses family on Burgundy, whose friendship and generosity helped restore me, and whose suggestions have been so helpful in finding a direction with the people around me. Also, my manager back in Los Angeles, who has been doing all he could to make this record come to fruition on the business side of things. As well as taking care of the personal stuff, today I am feeling like our efforts bore some good fruit. So thanks guys.

Don’t want to say more, we are just starting. I’ll post some pictures, and soon probably a bit of music for the fans who come to the web site.

good night moon.
